They call it the "Green Diamond" for its sumptuous
beauty and greenery or it is known in mythology as the "Island of
Sirens".
Thassos is the northernmost island of the Aegean Archipelago
which they say captivates with its beauty at first glance. If you like
beautiful beaches, walks, Greek food and wine, romance, fun - this is the right
place for you.
The coastline is about 100km long allowing you to stroll
around the island and visit the many beaches that will leave you breathless.
You can catch a ferry from Kavala or Keramoti and it will
cost you around € 30 for two in one way.
The southern part of the island is the trendy part of the
village - Limenaria, Potos, Psili Amos, but wherever you are, be sure to visit
all parts of the island. You will be amazed by the pine forests, the fresh air
and the crystal clear sea.
Beaches you must
visit:
Golden Beach. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in
Europe. Fine sand and crystal sea in northern Thassos.
Aliki Beach, located in southern Thassos, near the town of
Limenaria. Here you can rent tents and enjoy all day long. This is one of the
beaches that is considered to be trendy, and you usually have to go early to
get a place there.
Paradise Beach. The beach can be reached by land, but
believe it is worth the hike. It often has waves here and is great for
entertaining and consuming negative energy. There is a restaurant and a café on
the beach. The left side of the beach is reserved for nudists, and there are smaller
intimate bays.
Saliara Beach, also called Marble Beach. It is located in
the north of the island. The road is not asphalted, but still passable. The
beach has tiny white marble pebbles and the sea is incredibly crystalline blue.
Psili Amos is a beach in the south of the island. The left
side of the beach has incredibly soft sand, the water is cooler than the other
beaches and the rocky part where you can sunbathe. This season the beach is
turbocharged - with music and daily parties.
Tripiti. The beach is large and wide. On the right side
there is fine sand, and in the middle there are rocks. Here you can truly enjoy
it.
Salonikios. It is located in the south of the island. There
is a bar where you can have fun from the afternoon until the early morning.
There is much to see on Paradise Island. And another bunch
of beaches - Makriamos, Potos, Scala Maria, Pachis, Glyphoneri, Sugar Beach or
Atspas, Metalia, Pefkari, San Antonio ... and you will definitely find the
perfect beach for you.
