Lake Attabad: A paradise created by a disaster

Many claim Lake Attabad is the most beautiful pearl in Pakistan. The turquoise-colored lake at the foot of the impressive mountains has become a tourist attraction visited by thousands of people around the world. Interestingly, the lake was created by accident, due to an earthquake that claimed many human lives.
Natural disasters often cause great harm to locals. A similar incident occurred in 2010 in northern Pakistan. But while the damage was enormous, the disaster left something unbelievable.
Lake Attabad, located in Gojal, in the Hunza mountain valley, was formed in 2010 in the village of Attabad after a large rock slide. Previously the place was a mountainous terrain and a village where no tourists came.
The landslide claimed the lives of 20 villagers and caused unprecedented damage to thousands of people in the area. The flow of the Hunza River was blocked for five months, which disrupted normal life in the surrounding villages. In spite of all this, no one dreamed that something so beautiful could happen The Lake was 21 kilometers long in June 2010 , and in some places it reached depths of up to 100  meters. If you think paradise doesn't exist, take a look at the amazing photos of Lake attabad.
