Lard, is it good or bad

Lard is simply the common term for pork fat, which can be rendered from different parts of the pig. Just as people may use olive oil, butter or vegetable oil as a cooking medium, lard is also a reliable option. For centuries, pork fat was one of the more common cooking fats, but over time it developed something of a negative connotation.
Lard is healthy!
Good things about lard –
Lard is an incredibly stable saturated fat that is nutritious and extremely useful.
Lard has higher percentage of saturated fats compared to mono- and polyunsaturated fats. The higher the quality of the lard you use, the fewer polyunsaturated fats will be in the final product (this is good!).  This matters not only for the essential fats you are getting when you consume the lard, but also because the percentage of saturated fat protects the more vulnerable mono/polyunsaturated fats from oxidizing with heat (which happens often with olive oil and butter). Oxidation of fats causes free radicals, which in turn can cause cell damage in our bodies.
Generally, the reason why lard is healthy is three things: Vitamin D, monosaturated fat, and omega 3.
